Harriet beaumont
Harriet advises NGOs on how to raise their profile using the media. She'll sniff out your best stories, craft compelling messaging, and knows which journalists to reach out to for maximum impact. She coaches spokespeople and is adept at managing a crisis or a wobble. She also understands the pressures organisations small or large can be constrained by and how to work with these.
She is passionate about the power of the media to influence policy and public opinion, and often works alongside fundraising and public affairs teams to underpin and amplify their work.
Harriet has 15 years’ experience leading media relations and wider comms for large and small NGOs working on human rights, immigration, development, climate and legal issues. She has a wide network of UK and international media contacts in broadcast, print and online.
She's set up interviews with the BBC, CNN, Channel 4 News, Sky, local and international TV and radio, developed stories that made global front pages - Financial Times, NYT, Guardian, for example, and tabloids. She’s ghost-written opinion pieces for outlets like CNN, the FT and heaps of social media and web content. She's also a whizz copy editor.
Harriet works collaboratively and strategically, listening carefully to what’s needed and creating effective communication that builds bridges from you to your most valued audiences. Alert to opportunities and risks, she navigates confidently in complex, fast-paced environments and is valued for her integrity, kindness and sound judgement.
Whatever the brief, she will help you reach the wide audiences your work deserves - do get in touch for a chat if you’d like to know more.
