Zillah Watson

Zillah is co-founder (with Katie Grayson) of Phase Space VR, a new virtual reality-powered mental wellbeing app to support young people in education. It helps students calm down and get ready to focus in just 7 minutes.

Clinical trials back it, and schools co-designed it. It’s easy to roll out, affordable, and needs no specialist training. Students get instant relief from overwhelm, plus lasting confidence and coping skills—the foundations for future flourishing.

Phase Space has been successfully piloted across schools in south London and just launched in all 15 secondary schools in Sutton, in partnership with the South West London & St George's NHS Trust CAMHS Education Wellbeing Service. 

The former head of BBC VR, Zillah is an industry leader in scalable mass-market VR production and has won numerous awards. She developed the world’s first large-scale shared headset VR distribution model, pioneered in public libraries across the UK. She met her co-founder, Katie Grayson, in the TARDIS, working on the BBC's Doctor Who VR experience. They've brought together a brilliant team that combines the best of the UK's medical, tech, and creative industries to develop Phase Space.

Zillah is an Honorary Professor of VR at UCL and a visiting lecturer at Goldsmiths.
